Rank algorithm update from google weeded out a lot of good or bad websites, in the name of providing more relevant search results for it’s users, according to their official blog, this change impacts 11.8% organic search results, in plain English, there are about 12% of google search results are considered low quality by google itself. The update was initiated more than a year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, but almost all the ranks promoted by articles and blog posts were not affected, some of the keywords even ranked better than before, it becomes clear that link building the old way is the thing of past, probably due to link spamming sites being downgraded by google.

What is old way of link building any way? a lot of marketing companies did and are doing the plain link building, they will get links from any websites which accept adding links, these websites will only be updated when new links are being added, it’s safe to assume all of them are trash, we call these sites link spamming sites. New google algorithm most likely will punish these link spammers, any links on them will be affected too.

A few real world examples will help to explain what I said. It was quite some time ago, I started with this keyword, E Track Strap, at that time almost every body was doing plain linking campaign, lately I figured that every site in the campaign had way too many links, worst yet, those sites had no content at all. This strategy worked in the beginning, eventually the keyword could be found on first page, this was the case until google made the change. Now let’s look at another keyword, chain puller , we put the link in relevant context, not too many plain links have been built, you can imagine how this keyword ranks. Old and outdated linking campaign lost to content linking, what’s next? In fact the only thing matters here is content, when you create unique and quality content, not only people will love to read your stuff, so do the search engines. It’s never too late to build good blogs for business purpose, such as this interesting blog, baby stroller , in the beginning I just post to it casually, lately I added nice stuff left and right, and to my surprise, I have high ranks for some of competitive keywords. Now you can see, blog marketing with great content is the way to go. Now imagine you have your own blog network, for instance Traffic Cone, you will have the power to push any sites up in search engines.

At the end of day all you have to do is to create attractive content, publish and share with people, promote your business with the content, as long as you don’t stop doing this, you will win over customers and search engines. Whatever you do, you will need persistence and patience, nothing will automatically improve overnight, i.e., selling online or improve your search rankings, keep writing, publishing, sharing and creating, you will see the day of success. Ezine is one of the best article directories out there, new article will be indexed within an hour if not minutes, of course your posts on some blogs will be indexed real fast as well, here I am going to show you an article in article directory or on a blog, take Level Tool as an example, nice writing, good content, published on popular site, all these points make it perfect for SEO.

Last but not least, if you don’t take social media account, you’re lost. The Twitter tools is a wordpress plugin, you can install it, sign up for a twitter account and create a new application, configure your twitter tools prpperly, you should choose to post a tweet for every new post, it’s easy and really useful, if you don’t use this tool it’s just too bad.

Beginning early this year, certain search engine made some changes to their search ranking, the reason cited is that google wanted to provide more relevant results, according to their official blog, this change impacts 11.8% organic search results, in plain English, almost 12% of google search results are useless or of low quality. The update was initiated more than a year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, on the other hand almost all keywords promoted by contextual links are not affected, some of the keywords even ranked better than before, it’s safe to say that old way of link building is doomed.

Now what on earth is plain link building and how do people do it? a lot of marketing companies did and are doing the plain link building, they add your links to those linking websites without context, these websites will only be updated when new links are being added, and most of them are useless, we call these sites link spamming sites. Now google algorithm probably will weed out these sites, the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.

Maybe a few examples will make it clear. In the very beginning, I didn’t know better, I needed to rank the keyword, Chain Hoists, it was old way of link building all the way, a lot of sites I used had too many links, and the worst thing is that those sites are linking sites only and had no content, not even crap content. This strategy worked in the beginning, lately the keyword link stayed on the first page for a while, the honeymoon lasted until google changed it’s mind. Here is another keyword, chain puller , we put the link in relevant context, almost no plain links, the rank for this keyword is making me real happy. So contextual link wins this time, what about future? Actually this is all about content, so if you create great content, you will attract readers as well as search engines. It’s never too late to build good blogs for business purpose, such as this interesting blog, kaiya eve couture , I build it as a hobby and kept adding good or mediocre content, the result? I got nice ranking for a few realy nice keywords now. As far as SEO concerned, quality blog marketing is much better than plain link building. If you can build a group of your own blogs, something like Traffic Cone, then you will have a powerful weapon in your SEO arsenal.

Remember content is king, you just need to create content, publish and share with people, in the mean time advertise your business with your content, as long as you don’t stop doing this, you will win over customers and search engines. Whatever you do, you will need persistence and patience, nothing will automatically improve overnight, be it your business or search rankings, keep writing, publishing, sharing and creating, you will see the day of success. One of the best articles directories is EzineArticle, new article will be indexed within an hour if not minutes, popular blogs will get your post indexed as soon as you post it, here I am going to show you an article in article directory or on a blog, like this Hitch Ball , good writing, interesting content, indexed and cached, this article serves it’s purpose well.

Last but not least, we have hot social media now, no one can afford to not using them. One thing you can do for your blogs is to install twitter tools, sign up for a twitter account and create a new application, configure your twitter tools prpperly, you should choose to post a tweet for every new post, it’s easy and really useful, if you don’t use this tool it’s just too bad.
